Andy English

Artist - Printmaker

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAGE HAS BEEN REVISED ON MY NEW WEBSITE:
www.andyenglish.com
It contains a much more recent photograph; much older and uglier than the young fellow you see above!

Andy English was born in Norfolk in 1956 and still lives in the Fens, though he has moved over the border to Cambridgeshire, where he teaches.

Although mainly self taught as an engraver, Andy has studied with Sarah Van Niekirk. Printmaking now dominates his artistic output. He is an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers and the Cambridge Drawing Society. In addition, Andy is a member of the North American Wood Engravers Network. He has exhibited extensively in the UK and also in the USA.

Apart from independent prints, Andy’s output includes bookplates and illustrations. Engravings have been published in the following books: "Here We Are" (limited to 100 copies published by the Wood Engravers Network USA 1999), " A Wood Engraver's Globe (Primrose Hill Press, London 2002) and the new edition of "Engraved Gardens" (Primrose Hill Ptress, London 2001).

I was particularly honoured and Proud to be asked to engrave illustrations for "The Eve Of St Agnes". published in 2003 in an edition of 115 copies by The Barbarian Press.
